Imagine it’s a hot summer’s day and you feeling hot, uncomfortable, parched, lazy and moody. All you want is a cold glistening glass of your favourite soda.
You get to your fridge and OMG there it is, the gift that is soda (cream soda in my case)…..
Its calling your name, the thought of having that fizzy goodness go down your throat starts to put a smile on your face, you’re salivating, its heaven on earth…. STOP!!!
(Here comes the dream killer)… Don’t do it, have a glass of water instead, trust me you’ll thank me later. From this day forth every time you’re feeling thirsty remember this moment; remember me screaming in your ear GO FOR THE WATER, GO FOR THE WATER.
What you are feeling is dehydration, what you need is water…. Water is so beneficial, so easy, so free yet so easily overlooked. Your body is about 70% water. Therefore, you need water to function properly.All through the day, you lose about 8 cups (2L) of water from your body. Not replacing the water is why you feel the way you do on that HOT summer’s day. Dehydration is the reason you’re feeling thirsty.

Trust me, on days that I manage to drink my usual 2,5L of water, I feel amazing, I have a bounce in my step, I feel sexy, honestly I feel like a marvel superhero, like I could save the world. I know what you all thinking. “Water tastes terrible, it’s just bland!”.Well here are a couple of tips and recipes to help you increase your water intake, they are easy, and fun, healthy and they make water taste great.
Start your day by drinking about litre of water. You can squeeze a lemon into it of you want. Then have another litre of water between the times you have your breakfast to about lunch time. Finally have another litre in the time space after lunch but before having supper or your 4o’clock cup of tea. By following this routine and some of these recipes drinking water will be easy!!!

Kiwi is a super food and is packed with vitamins A and E which improves your overall health and well-being. Oranges aid with healthy blood circulation
On the right we have ice-cold water, lemon, cucumber and fresh mint.
Lemon: Lemon water makes for a powerful detox drink; lemon juice helps to cleanse and alkalize the body. Lemon also aides in digestion and boosts your immune system.
Mint: Mint adds a touch of sweetness without the sugar, and it also helps settle your stomach and aids in digestion.
Cucumber: Adding a few slices of cucumber to your water makes for excellent re-hydration, and cucumber contains anti-inflammatory properties.
