Pamper Sunday: Cucumber, Yogurt & Honey
Cucumber, yogurt, and honey is a trio that’s great for the skin. This is one of those masks that work wonders on your skin. Frankly a mask made of natural ingredients will definitely work well for most skin types. I hope you didn’t think I had forgotten about pamper Sunday, how could I Sunday is our day to rest, read a book, recharge and prepare for the coming week. This post is coming to you late coz I might have taken my pamper far and almost forgot to share.
There is so much to love about cucumbers, yogurt, and honey. These three ingredients separately are super foods. Cucumbers are known for their hydrating properties, it rejuvenates the skin and improves your connective tissues to help keep elasticity and combat wrinkles as well. Cucumber also tightens your skin and maintains it hydrated, because of its high water content. Cucumber is seriously a super ingredient, it has vitamin C which is also good for soothing the skin which makes it great for all skin types.
Yogurt on the other hand naturally reduce fine lines and wrinkles . The lactic acid in yogurt will help dissolve dead skin and tighten pores. And as you all know my relationship with honey is second to non. I love what it does for my skin and I will never get tired of talking about it. You can check out my post on the benefits of using honey on the skin HERE
A cucumber face mask may be applied as a moisturizer for dry skin as well as a toner for oily skin. I hope this face mask becomes one of those masks you use weekly. Feel free to share some of your favourite face masks so I can also try them out. This cucumber face mask is great for all types of skin but can be particularly helpful in fighting excess oil, blemishes and clogged pores.
♥ 1 cucumber
♥ 2 tablespoons of honey
♥ Plain unflavored yogurt (1 cup), with active cultures
♥ Put it together with the yogurt, liquid honey, cucumber. Mix till you have one paste which is consistent enough so it’ll stay on the face without running.
♥ Spread this paste gently and equally using a spatula or facial mask brush on the clean face and neck; maintain the eye area clear.
♥ Afterwards lie down, relax and allow this mask on for half an hour.
♥ Then rinse it off using lukewarm water; pat the skin dry with one clean towel. Lastly apply a moisturizer, this method you “seal” the skin to hold the water inside.
Enjoy your Sunday my honey’s. Until tomorrow <3
