Menu Monday: Gourmet Roast Beef & Ham Grilled Cheese Sandwich 

Menu Monday is finally here…. I am so excited about this, I’ve been planning this for so so long. I am just ecstatic I finally got around to doing it. This homemade ‘Gourmet’ Roast Beef & Ham Grilled Cheese Sandwich has an amalgam of flavours. It is without a doubt the best thing I’ve made all week (Let’s all forget that it’s just the start of the week oookay).  

I have a thing for a good sandwiches. I have never been the slam Polony on bread and consider it a sandwich type of person. Seriously! Try me out with some mayo and lettuce. A grilled cheese sandwich was appropriate for six-year-old Miri (without the crusts, please) and I still consider it a perfectly sophisticated treat today. 

What we have here is the love child between a perfectly healthy sandwich and cheddar cheese. I know everyone can make a grilled cheese sandwich, yes. But this isn’t just your average grilled cheese, it’s far from it. I put together slices of cheddar cheese,  shredded roast beef, shredded ham, tomato, avocado, some salt, pepper and mixed herbs just for control, lol. 

Before I dive in and share the recipe let me explain a little about menu Monday. On Monday’s I will be sharing recipes I like to keep in my arsenal of quick, easy and absolutely delicious go-to meals. Something easy for busy professionals, students, and super moms. I live alone and sometimes making something to eat can be a mammoth task. Because I understand the struggle I’ve put together quick and effortless recipes for you, (as effortless as cooking can be obviously

Gourmet Roast Beef & Ham Grilled Cheese Sandwich Recipe 

Now that we are in spring a good light, warm lunch changes everything. You don’t really want to have a heavy meal and thats what makes this sandwich recipe gold. This sandwich starts of with some healthy, freshly baked 100% rye bread which is buttered with some unsalted butter (remember we are going for Health-ish here.. 

After slicing my bread I butter one side of each slice of bread,  lay the bread butter side down in skillet, layer with cheese, roast beef, ham, avocado, tomatoes and sprinkle salt, pepper and the herbs and top with another slice of bread (buttered side up).

Cook over medium high heat until golden and glorious and cheese becomes melty and voila you have a simple, quick and easy meal. That you and everyone else will enjoy. Its delicious, nutricious, healthy-ish and  sophisticated.

    I can’t eat bread ’cause – reasons 🙁 – but this looks sooooo good! Can’t wait for more simple recipes to try out.
