10 Ways to Actually Stick to Your 2016 HEALTHY LIFESTYLE Resolutions

Good Afternoon La Familia,

I am so excited to be back to this blogging thing. So we are two weeks into the New Year and already some of you are failing to stick to your resolutions. I totally understand how that’s possible sometimes we make commitments without realizing how much we are going to have to do to keep that commitment. So I started with the health resolutions, because firstly. YAY you are on the right track in 2016 but lets be real you changing your eating habits isn’t always easy.

Well no worries, I am here for you. I am going to help you figure out the best way to stick to your resolutions. your healthy lifestyle resolutions are important so do not give up too soon, don’t let those individuals who do not believe in resolutions make you doubt yourself. Keep on keeping on.

the next steps are the best steps I can give you to help you stay on track, keep reading.

♥ Understand the reason you why you want to change.

I think its easier to follow through with anything in life if you understand it. You need to be sure about your reasons for going vegan, going on a low carb diet or just limiting your sugar intake. At this point I am sure it seems obvious you are trying to be healthier but that not what I am mean. I mean, be sure you are doing it for yourself. If you are just doing it coz someone laughed at your tummy or cause your friend is doing it too its going to be difficult for you. Identify why and rise up to the challenge. As I mentioned, changing eating habits can be really hard. Get over the hurdle by identifying why you feel the need to change your eating habits. Is it to have more energy? Clearer skin? More self-confidence? Whatever your reason may be, write it down and refer back to it when you feel like giving up.

♥ Choose a method of eating healthy that is enjoyable, sustainable, and works with your lifestyle.

Secondly, the reason why so many diets fail is because they aren’t enjoyable or sustainable. When we try quick fixes that are extremely restricting, juice cleanses, or eating cabbage soup all day, we just end up feeling hungry, tired, and deprived, which leads us back to the unhealthy habits we were trying to overcome in the first place. So how do we avoid this trap? Find a method of healthy eating that is sustainable and works for your lifestyle. Do not and I repeat Do not try to do it all at once. Start slow, start by reducing the number of teaspoons of sugar that you have, then after some time switch to honey and maybe one day you wont need to sweeten your tea. Being healthier is a process, which is why they are called year resolutions, trying to achieve some of your resolutions overnight is impractical. Be realistic.

♥ Educate yourself.

Did you know that 1 in 3 people fail to stick to their resolutions in the first week? Th reason people fail to stick to their resolutions is they do not know how to do it.

Educate yourself on the different food groups, their impact. Find out about the best substitutes for everything you eat that’s ‘unhealthy’

♥ Meal Plan.

Meal plans help you plan how much you are going to spend o food for the month. That way you don’t just buy food you aren’t going to eat. That is what happens with a lot of people. opt for healthier alternatives as opposed to depriving yourself. Whats the saying again, “when you fail to plan, you plan to fail.” Meal planning is a great way to set yourself up for success. Set aside an hour or two of time every week to plan your meals, grocery shop, and do some basic food prep.

♥ Get Rid Of All The Junk Food.

There’s no point in trying to stop drinking coffee, then you on to buy a new bottle of coffee every time you run out. I mean you are without a doubt setting yourself up for failure.

♥ Find healthy food you actually love.

Eating healthy does not mean eating salad all day. It should and can be delicious! Focus on healthy foods that you actually enjoy favorites are avocado, eggs, seeded toast, green beans and feta. find the stuff you’ll enjoy and treat yourself.

♥ Discover healthy restaurant alternatives.

Cooking everyday can be draining and you don’t want to become a loner coz you are too afraid if you go out you end up eating too much. find a restaurant that serves healthy food.

♥ Seek out a resolution buddy,

Working towards something with zero encouragement and no motivation can be difficult. Get someone, your friends, family on boards and enjoy healthy resolutions for the whole family

♥ Track your progress

Once the resolution goes into effect, though, people should track their progress, arrange their environment to help (rather than hinder) them and reward their successes.

It’s also fine to occasionally slip in your resolutions so long as you don’t allow that to derail you completely.

♥ Be honest with yourself and cut yourself some slack

Its so easy to tell yourself that you don’t need to be healthier, that the amount of sugar you eat is not a lot but be honest about your health and take the steps you  need to. take.

Once you start being negative you lose motivation. your resolutions will become something to have to do and not want to do. Don’t be too serious, have fun and when you cheat cut yourself some slack
