On the beauty desk is a series that I am without a doubt going to always love doing and sharing. I love sharing my thoughts and all the information I have with you all but taking pictures and putting together this blog post was just different. I loved every minute of it.
On the Beauty Desk is a series that will feature products I am currently testing out or that I just started using thus on the beauty desk”I could have gone with something a bit different but this name just seemed fitting.
What we have on the beauty desk today are three new additions to my beauty arsenal. As you all have probably discovered by now I am a bit of a product hoarder but in my defense its so that I can share valuable, personal experiences with all of you. Today I have the Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula, the Coconut Oil Formula and finally after such a long a time the Garnier Micellar Water .
I personally enjoy reading first impression blog posts because I find them very informative and frankly speaking first impression blog posts and vlogs have saved me a lot of money. The beauty about them is I find out all I need to about a product I’ve been eyeing or planning to buy and when its not worth the hype I know I should just jump right past in in the dischem or clicks isles.
My hope is to do the same for you.
#1 On The Beauty Desk – Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula
Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula with Vitamin E ♥ R54,95 is a moisturizing oil that is meant to instantly relieve dry skin. Its is paraben free 250ml bottle of what they describe as a lightly scented soybean, sesame and safflower oil. Okay, so in the spirit of full disclosure I have to mention that I hate the smell of cocoa butter. I find it extremely overwhelming and I’ve just honestly never loved it. I prefer the smell of sheer butter, I don’t find it as strong and noisy as cocoa butter. At this point you are all probably thinking this first impression is already biased. I guess it is but I am going to be as neutral as possible.
I was shopping for bath and body products yesterday and since winter is HERE now I really wanted a product that would help sooth, add moisture and richness to my skin. I thought of getting bio oil or some of the other essential oils but I just had to try this. I had a roommate who loved the Palmer’s brand products and so I was very curious about what it would do for my skin. When I read on the bottle that it was lightly scented I figured I would be able to cope. But boy was I in for a shocker. Non the less the oil has my skin feeling really good. You are meant to use it as soon as you step out if the shower, with your skin still damp as this allows for you skin to lock in the moisture from your bath. This has helped me because after I am done and I lotion as usual the Cocoa Butter smell fades. I will be using this product for the rest of the month. I love the bottle and its simplicity, the cap too.
The oil absorbs quickly into the skin so if you are worried about being shiny or slippery all day don’t worry you wont feel the oiliness after a bit.
#2 On The Beauty Desk- Palmer’s Coconut Oi Formula
Palmer’s Coconut Oil Formula with Vitamin E ♥ R59,95 – this strong roots spray has to be the best thing to happen to me in the past week or so. I’ve been using this spray for no more than 2 weeks and I would recommend it to anyone. Since going natural my scalp has been on fire. My hair itches so much that for a split paranoid second I thought I had ring worms. Then it hit me (after bullying a friend into checking my scalp for ring worms twice just be sure ) that its because my natural hair is very dry. The Palmer’s Strong Roots spray ‘really does sooth itching and the smell of the eucalyptus and Peppermint oil is addictive. My hair smells and feels fresh under my protective style. Not only does this multi purpose spray strengthen hair (because of the coconut oil and vitamin E) it promotes hair growth (because of the peppermint oil). The most important fact about this spray is it helps with tightness and itching. It’s helped me so much such that is I met someone who works for Palmer’s I would kiss them (don’t get any ideas). The spray isn’t greasy so I don’t have to worry about making my white linen dirty. I have been using this for two weeks and I love it. the price for some people might be a tad bit high in comparison to other hair sprays but ladies….. I promise you will not regret buying this spray. You get a bang for your buck.
#3 On The Beauty Desk – Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water
Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water ♥ R32,95 (“on the go”size) – I have sensitive skin and for as long as i can remember I’ve fought for, with and against my skin to make it look the way it does. I have built a routine that allows my skin to stay healthy and acne free and the idea of trying something that could be a recipe for acne sends chills down my spine. It might seen like much but I have come a long way and Micellar water just seemed like a lazy way to go about any routine. Listen I am not always a saint when it comes to sleeping with zero makeup up on but I am an A student when it comes to it. It doesn’t matter whether I’ve been out with friends, have had a bad day or a long day I make it a point to wash my face before I go to bed and so I didn’t really see the need for it. Until the other day when I realized I had left my honey at home and I needed to was my full face of makeup. So as I walked into clicks trying to figure out what to do next I decided to go for it. I was going to use it once anyway, but now that I have tried it and my skin didn’t break out. I adore it., this small, absolutely cute bottle of Micellar Water will change my Lazy days forever. Its the perfect lazy girl’s solution to makeup removal and so far I have no qualms with it.
I will try out the Pure Active Micellar Water and get back to you all with a full review.
I hope you’ve enjoyed reading my first impressions blog post and if you were planning on buying any of the 3 products above I say go for it. It’ll be worth the money spent.
All the products above are available either at Dischem or Clicks Stores.
