Fishy Delights: A delicious and easy to make Battered Hake

😊 Good Afternoon my lovely readers,
I hope you all had an amazing Tuesday. If you have acne or any skin problems check out yesterdays post on double cleansing😉.

I’ve always been a picky eater for as long as my mum and I can remember 😂, more my mum though🙈. Sometimes I honestly think I was such a nightmare for my mum. Imagine having to feed someone who sometimes wont corporate just for the sake of it. Someone who doesn’t eat this or that or who won’t eat this coz it’s made that way 😂😂😂😂  seriously I don’t know how she did it.

Anyway as I grow older and especially after I started blogging i’ve been challenging myself to eat the foods that I just haven’t been eating since I was a child because I just didn’t feel like it. And also u doubt Gordon Ramsay , Siba Mtongana and even the chefs from The Kitchen could be where they are without trying out or learning how to make certain things just because they didn’t like the taste right 😔?

The list is long so it might take me a while but im proud to say I now eat eggs, butter but only when melted, I tried out peas in a potatoe salad with a mayonnaise (there’s still a lot of work to be done) but what counts  is I am trying.

Can we just clap our hands for me. I made battered fish and chips for lunch today and I enjoyed it. It tastes great and I’m proud of myself, lol.

This is going down in my recipe book sometime in the future as on of the many fish recipes you should try if you aren’t a fish fan, that and my mum’s creamed fish. These recipes can turn anyone into a fish lover 😂

Delicious Battered Hake and Chips

  • skinless and boneless fish fillets: hake, haddock,.. (about 250g)
  • 60g self raising flour + a couple of extra tablespoons, lol
  • 125ml Beer
  • Egg
  • 1 tablespoon of lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon of turmeric powder and paprika
  • pepper and salt
  • Tomato
  • Lettuce
  • Avocado
  • Cucumber

To make the beer batter for the fish place your flour, seasoning and paprika then make a well and add your beer and egg and mix it till its smooth.

Heat your oil and add the coated fish into the hot oil slowly whilst holding the other end to ensure your batter doesn’t stick to the pan it your frying basket.

Toss your salad vegetables with some lemon juice, crushed  garlic sugar and olive oil and voila you have yourself and amazing meal for one #don’t forget to plate your food though

Cooking has never been easier 😊😊😊
