GOOD MORNING,
You probably expecting me to say
Nothing says “good morning” like a warm bowl of oatmeal. Whether slowly cooked and creamy or blended with fresh fruit in a smoothie, oats provide your body with many benefits. If you’re not eating oatmeal for breakfast, you’re missing out on a delicious way to add fiber and nutrients to your body first thing in the morning.
Well i’m not going to lie, oats are an acquired taste and for most of us they are linked to those memories of your mum forcing you to eat them for their health benefits, or if you were in boarding school they remind you of those terrible mornings everyone dreaded. (I love my mum but she almost ruined oats) but because I know my mum is wise woman I’ve found a way to eat healthy and make it taste good too.
P.S to my kids I’m doing this for you!! Yes, you will eat oats.
If you wondering why the heck I’m having oats for breaky and not the bacon, sausage beans, chips and toast instead its because I live alone and making a breakfast that big for one person is just too much effort, seriously it even tastes different !!!
I didn’t post anything all week because school was kicking my tooshie. So I took pictures of my breakfasts to share with you easy breakfast ideas for a busy day or week or lifestyle really.
P.S your mum, your boarding school, your campus accommodation peeps were all just trying to help.
Oats are a super-food, Provides high levels of fiber, low levels of fat, and high levels of protein, Removes your bad cholesterol (without affecting your good cholesterol). Oats boost your energy, they help with hunger pangs and food cravings and when they are pared with fruit toppings they are the GI Joe of breakfasts
If you want to know more about the benefits of the fruits in the pictures just let me know.
