BLUE TURNS GOLDEN
Blue is always associated with the negative. I’m sure we’ve all heard someone is our lives or have even said ourselves that we have the ‘morning blues’ or ‘Monday Blues’? The noun blues is used to figuratively refer to sadness and laziness. When we have the blues we have no zeal and no enthusiasm.
The meaning of blue turned around for me this past weekend. My queen managed to turn things around for me. When I think blue now, I think of my mum. The word and the colour has a new meaning. Love, integrity, reliability, responsibility and concern.
You are probably thinking of the title above, this weekend I celebrated my queen. This beautiful and powerful soul turned 50 and it was a momentous occasion. We laughed, we cried, we celebrated her. I would talk about how amazing the day was but that would take away from the birthday girl’s on post on this beautiful day. if you want to now more about the birthday girl then check out her blog.
It’s been a while since I’ve written a fashion blog post. I have this love for dresses, I think they flatter me. I felt so elegant, chic, classy and all so beautiful. I was the camera person on the day so they aren’t that many pictures of me. I had to sneak in a shoot, lol. Talk about neglecting one’s duties.
Love, integrity and responsibility (BLUE) really looks good on me doesn’t it. I bought this dress so last minute but I am so glad I did. I cannot wait to dress it up again for a different occasion. A night out on the town with the girls or dinner with bae maybe.
I never used to like colour. It complicates my life. I have to think about which colours g together, I have to think about what works and what doesn’t. Which is something you never ave to do if you’re rocking your LBD Or LWD . If you are a lazy fashionista then you know what I’m going on about.
This blue dress is the very first blue dress in my wardrobe and it’s opened so may does for me. I am so ready enter the fashion world of dresses and colour.
The long sleeved sheer arms make it perfect for summer, you can unpin them into a sort of cape (dear fashion bloggers please help me with the right nah for this).
A dress with that adds a little pop of colour is such a necessity for any woman’s wardrobe. Here is living a life of colour. Remember to wake, show up and bloom where you are planted.
Thank you for reading this and catching up.
Until tomorrow. Smile and choose grace.
