REVIEW – L.A Girl Eyeshadow Collection

[metaslider id=1185]

Hey NKB Family,

I seriously cant believe the year is almost over.

From the day I started using make up I have always been envious of people who know how to use eyeshadow and have learnt to use it to make their makeup pop. I mean whats not to love about a timelessly attractive smokey eye or smoldering golden eye.

Only problem was not only did I not know how to use eyeshadow, I wasn’t willing to learn whilst using high end brands like Urban Decay. I’ve been wanting an affordable eyeshadow collection that wouldn’t look tacky on me. It ad to be affordable, high quality with an acceptable number of colours. Its the only way I could learn the basics, lol.

I am happy to say the Christmas gods have answered my prayers. I’ve been reading rave reviews about the L.A Girl Cosmetics eyeshadow collection from some of my favorite SA bloggers like Luzanne from Pink Peonies.

The LA Girl Cosmetics Brand itself from the reviews is an affordable brand of make and living proof that affordable, drug store makeup does not have to be low quality.

After doing my due diligence in research on the product I decided to just bite the bullet and get the eyeshadow palettes.

The LA Girl Eyeshadow Collections are filled with majorly pigmented shades that aren’t only wearable but give any makeup lover the opportunity to create a range of beautiful looks.

I’ve used to the palettes for almost two weeks now, they are soft and buttery, pigmented and the palettes themselves have both mate and shimmery colours. I haven’t invested in an eye primer yet and because my lids are oily the eyeshadow seems to wear for about 5-6 hours, which I don’t mind at all.

The Beauty Brick comes in a lightweight cardboard case and contains 12 eyeshadows, mirror, and double ended eyeshadow applicator (although I prefer to use my eyeshadow brushes instead, I just think they do a better job). I have never understood why most make up kits contain those tiny little brushes anyway.

I am pleased with this buy. They are a good investment and I felt obligated to share with my makeup loving family 🙂 . I believe these palettes are a great addition to any makeup collection, the shades are absolutely stunning, its great value for money.  The price is unbeatable, never in my wildest dreams did I ever think I would come across a 12-pan eyeshadow palette that retails for +/- R80.

The only down side is when I swipe my brush over the eyeshadow there is quite a lot of fall off so I would suggest doing your foundation and the rest of you make up after applying the eyeshadow.

I am such a sucker for neutral shades and as such this palette hit home for me. They are so easy to work with and create a variety of looks. For those “no make up- make up look” days this is palette for you. The Rose-Gold nudes beauty brick is to die for 😊❤️.

The smokey palette is such a versatile palette with cool and warm Colours. From the creamy shimmer to the dark blue satin the palette is the perfect make up item for smokey looks and more.

I hope you enjoy using these as much as I have. They also have an Ultra and Neon palette. I thought as a newbie to eye makeup I would start with the basics. If you would like swatches of these products check out Pink Peonies  and TheStyleandBeautyDoctor an added bonus is they compare these products to the Urban Decay Naked 3 palette

Is this a product I would buy again ? Yes! Am I impressed enough to try their other products? Yes, yes, yes !

In other news my exam prep is going well. I just reached a 500 followers milestone on the NKB Facebook Page and I am so humbled.

Thank you all for your support and for believing in me.
