May 2016 Favourites

I am back with my May Favourites and I am pretty chuffed I’ve managed to stick to my schedule.  As I was planning out the week’s blog posts and I found myself adding favourites to the list I have to be honest I wasn’t quite sure what I was going to share. One of the reasons for that is, I’m one of those people who are really loyal to certain brands especially when it comes to skin care. Having started this series last month I didn’t realise just how much having sensitive skin has affected my life.

I have a slight phobia (if you’ll allow me to call it that) of buying and trying out new skin care products. I always think trying something new will cause my skin to react badly. Blogging has in the past couple of months pulled me out of my comfort zone though. I am kind of relieved that this is my second favourites post because I still have a couple of my holy grail products that I haven’t had the chance to share.

Before we jump right into today’s blog post I would like to give a slight life update. I am slowly getting over my fear of being home alone after the Break-in , lol one of the reasons though is probably because I’ve turned my house into a maximum security prison (Alcatraz as my S/O and I have rightly named it). Having alarms and added security has me feeling somewhat safer. I still jump whenever I hear noises but time heals right ?

Anyway if you are one of those people looking facing a beauty crisis and are in need of some rescuing, or you’re tired of your current antiperspirant or you are looking for a handy hand cream then I’ve got you covered.

And now for the moment we have all been waiting for (starts typing faster) ….. here are the products that tickled my fancy during the month of May

May Favorites – Soil Jojoba Oil

The fact that the Soil Organic Jojoba Oil is on my list of favourites shouldn’t be a shocker. For those of you that might be new to the blog – Hi, I’m Miriam and I am an advocate for natural beauty. natural beauty products have changed my skin and possibly my life and for that reason I am truly grateful. Soil is a natural and organic certified company that produces and sells 100% Organic essential oils and carrier oils too. Since finding their oils amongst all the other essential oils in the Dischem Isles I have been their number 1 fan.

Jojoba oil has really changed the way my skin feels and looks. I use as a base before adding essential oils to the mix to make what I use as a moisturizer. It’s soft and nourishing and it absorbs quickly into the skin. If you have sensitive, dry or oily skin then jojoba oil is the oil perfect Carrier Oil for you. If you’d like to know more about what kind oils you can use for your skin and how they will help them check out Minimalist Beauty Blog. I love her content.

I love the Jojoba Oil and it will be my face moisturizer forever, lol. Added bonus is the oil comes with a dropper which makes it so easy to use.

May Favourites – Soil Tea Tree & Lavender Oil

Second on my list of favourites are the Soil Essential Oils. I am putting both the Lavender and Tea Tree Oil together because I use them together. I never go anywhere without these too products. they are so multi-purpose and helpful in my life I panic when I start running out. The Tea Tree Oil is an excellent antiseptic, antifungal, antiviral skin care product. Other than adding 10 drops to my 30ml Jojoba Carrier Oil I use the essential oil to spot treat any fresh blemishes. I also use to treat itching on my scalp and anywhere else on my body.  If you would like to know more about how I use my tea tree and lavender oils then I suggest you check out my Skincare Routine

I can’t say which of these two I love best because they both do such an amazing job for my skin. The lavender oil is calming, soothing and generally relaxing. if you add a couple of drops to the tub after a long day you’ll feel so relaxed. It even helps with headaches and insomnia. We are always so busy that it’s important to take care of our bodies. If you are as busy as I am then I suggest investing in a bottle of this magic or products with lavender in them. You won’t regret it.

You might find the smalls of these essential oils bothersome at first but after a couple of uses the smell grows on you.

May Favourites – L’oreal Infallible Fixing Mist

Okay, so I’ve only ever used one other fixing mist which is the MAC prep & prime fixing mist but because I want to share detailed information with my readers when this product launched and a couple of my Favourite bloggers started using it, I was very excited to try it myself. a fixing spray is meant to keep your makeup in place and prolong the wear of your makeup by reducing the production of sebum and creating a film on your face that protects your makeup against humidity and heat. I’ve been using this spray for almost two months now and I love using it. It’s one of the more affordable fixing mists out there and it works perfectly well. If you’d like I could do a full review of the spray please let me know in the comment section.

May favourites – Maybelline Instant Pore Eraser

Investing in a good primer is something every beauty lover should do. It creates a clean, smooth canvas for your makeup and also protects your skin against the harmful effects of makeup. I love my Maybelline Baby Skin Instant pore Eraser. It creates a smooth canvas for my makeup and since I started using it I’ve seen a big difference in the way my skin looks and feels. I have a full review of the product here

May favourites – Mitchum 48 Hour Protection Antiperspirant

I realise that this isn’t really a beauty product but I had to share. I’ve been using Nivea Roll-on and Antiperspirant for as long as I can remember. Their products work well for me and I’ve never been disappointed. After a long day I know I will still smell fresh and clean. However, i made the mistake of going toiletry shopping with Wadel (my S/O) and as an advocate for Mitchum (seriously they should pay him) he convinced me to try out the Mitchum advanced control gel and I am smitten. The gel keep you smelling fresh. I am not even kidding this does give you 48 hour protection. The Mitchum team definitely doesn’t play when is comes to odor protection. I am so happy that I didn’t fight Wadel on this. It was such a good suggestion.

May favourites – Sorbet Balancing Hand & Nail Cream

Last but definitely not the least favourite is the Sorbet Balancing Hand and Nail Cream. This uplifting and amazingly moisturising hand cream is the BOMB. I carry around everywhere I go and I am really grateful to the Sorbet Walmer Park team for this gift. Sorbet now has a true customer in me. This hand cream is just everything. It smells good and has essential oils and extracts that provide your hands with all the nourishment they need.
