BEAUTY ON A BUDGET

BEAUTY ON A BUDGET – Achieving the perfect glow doesn’t have to cost a fortune

Achieving the perfect glow doesn’t have to cost a fortune, you can use makeup, look and feel beautiful without going bankrupt. Nowadays sophisticated formulas, wallet-friendly priced makeup available for all of us and if your budget is more stewing beef and less premium fillet your makeup no longer has to suffer. Trust me affordable makeup can produce equally high-end results.

I guess sometimes we might find that budget friendly makeup doesn’t always have the pearls, glitter and museum-worthy packaging however it does give the perfect glow just like any other makeup. I am a student and I don’t always have finances available to get myself high end products, if I want high-end, I always have to wait to go shopping with mummy dearest or save up a pretty penny.

We’re going to start with two of my favorite drug store foundations. They are good quality, middle to full coverage foundations that are both affordable and easy to apply. The Rimmel Match Perfection R120 and the Black Opal Pore Perfecting Foundation R210  if you would like to find out more about the foundations, I’ve written reviews on both foundations. The Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation is a pretty darn good foundation, very soft and light feeling. Luminous semi-matte finish. Very natural looking on the skin and surprisingly  good for a drugstore foundation and so is the Black Opal Pore Perfection Foundation

Up next we have the L.A Girl Pro Concealer R59 I’ve come to expect good things from L.A girl. I always read good reviews about their products. I recently purchased these and they’ve both been working wonders for my highlighting and contouring game. The pro-concealer is both easy to blend and it doesn’t crease. I will write a review soon though

Black Opal Concealing Foundation R205 The black opal concealers are my favorite, they are both full coverage and they work wonders for my skin. If you want to know more about these affordable concealers be sure to check out my REVIEW on how great they are.

To highlight and accentuate my face I have always turn to powders to highlight my under eye area, my nose, my chin and forehead my favourite so far is the Vault Cosmetics Banana Powder R335 that is all the parts of my face the light hits and then I set all my makeup using my Black Opal Medium Setting Powder  R190.  I have very oily skin in summer and combination skin in winter so having a setting powder is always important which makes having makeup that I can buy for under R400 just perfect.

If you decide to use makeup on your face sometimes foundation tends to flatten the face, and to bring back some dimension its always great to fill in your eyebrows. I talked about highlighting and contouring above and eyebrows are just as important to me. The Sleek Brow Kit R300 is the best way to accentuate your eyes and create the perfect brows for a particular look.

The L.A Girl Blush Collection R99 in Glow is the perfect set for any girl out there, what makes it even better is the price you have a four in one set. 2 blushes, a bronzer and a highlighter. It makes for the perfect kit for a sun-kissed glow. L.A girl in my opinion out did themselves with their blush collection.

And finally you can gold the line,  finish off the look your look by adding a little shimmer, shine and gold to your look using the Catrice Eyeshadow R69, the quality of their eyeshadow is just of the chain. I mean it they tick all the boxes, they blend well and they have just the right amount of pigment and in the same hand, in a bigger bottle we have  Accessorize Silk Based Eyeshadow R10 the color payoff is just shocking considering how much the eyeshadow costs. For R10 you are getting a lot of bang for your buck !!!

I know this is different but I figured  we could add this serious to our weekly posts. I find these bargains and i’m always getting questions about what I use this series will be my way of sharing that with you all.

What budget friendly makeup products do you use ? do you use any of the above items. Please do share!!!

i love that concealer from LA Girl!! I also love wet n wild matte lipsticks which I think cost R43 from Clicks and they are longlasting, you dont have to touch up every 2 hours or whatever. I also buy my mascaras from Avon they are usually on special from around R49 and they are really value for your money.

      Hey Doreeen,

I’ve also tried the wet n wild matte lipsticks and you are right they are good. Rumor has it that the LA Girl liquid lippies are great too.

Thank you for sharing about Avon. I’ve never used their products but now I’ll be sure to check out those mascaras.
