April 2016 Favourites

I don’t think I’ve ever done a monthly favourites blog post. if i have, its been so long since I last did one that I can barely remember. I honestly don’t know why I have shared more monthly favourites blog posts because I enjoy talking about my brand new finds and how I am enjoying using whatever new or old items I own.

I love having virtual friends such as yourself because I just feel like I can talk to you, I can share and have you share right back. I mean isn’t that what relationships are about? I enjoy sharing reviews and product information with you all so when you go shopping you know which products to choose. I want to always keep it open and honest with you all. My aim is to one day have an own a makeup line, testing products for you allows me to learn and grow. Le t me stop here, that other info is for another day.

Now onto our April favourites, I realize this post is late but its been a rough week… I have ulcers and on most days I’m good then something (life happens) and triggers the ulcers. Its excruciating pain, nausea and just crap but now that I am better I’m back to share.

April Favourites

Elizabeth Arden Skin Balancing Cream – R280 (I think)

We are going to start off this favourites show with my number 1 favourite product for the past 2/3 months. as you all know I am a natural oils girl. I remove my makeup using natural oils (avocado oil, coconut oil or olive oil). I moisturize with natural oils too, you can check out my detailed face routine here . However, during graduation my mum came down to visit and she realized she’d forgotten her moisturizer and as I was hunting for the perfect foundation for the momentous occasion she bought this great moisturizer for herself. This Elizabeth Arden Skin Balancing Moisturizer for combination skin is the bomb. It totally rocked my socks off. Its light on the skin, its great for sensitive skin too. My skin didn’t break out and has since looked and felt so much better. Its such good value for money. I just hope i’ll be able to afford a new bottle when this one runs out. It smells awesome too.

Freeman Mint and Lemon Clay Mask – R63,95

The best foundation you can wear is glowing, healthy skin which is why the Freeman Mint and Lemon Clay Mask made it on the list. I have a fear of trying out products on my face because I break out easily, so when I bought the Freeman Masks I was terrified they would casue my skin to flare up but boy was I wrong. This mask feels for good on the skin from the moment you put it on. The lemon and mint is so refreshing, it dries up and heals acne plus the clay as you all know is great for sensitive acne prone skin. I love, love, love it.

Elizabeth Arden Flawless Finish Perfectly Satin Foundation – R380

I have reviewed this foundation before and I mentioned just how much I loved it so I am sure it doesn’t come as a shock to find it on my monthly favourites list. This satin foundation is light, full coverage and blends like a dream. It was such a good buy and so worth the cents spent on it. You know as a creative-preneur every cent counts. It has pump which makes it hygienic and easy to use. Just two pumps of this go a long way. With skin that been prepped and primed this foundation will last about 12 hours. I am all about matte finish foundations but now that the months are getting colder I want my skin to have that glow you know. If you want to know more about this beaut, feel free to check out my review

LA Girl Pro.Conceal – R45,95

If you’re an avid blog reader such as myself then you’ve seen this affordable concealer on a lot of blogs. It’s amazing, I highly recommend the L.A Grl HD Concealer. It doesnt crack under the eyes and its perfect for high-lighting. Its creamy, bleand-able, affordable and you’ll be guaranteed a beautiful highlight when you’re done. It’s a medium coverage concealer but I love it. try it out and let me know what you think. If you have dry skin I suggest moisturizing your skin first!!

Elizabeth Arden Flawless Finish Correcting and Highlighting Perfector

This highlighter is my first high-end concealer and I have to say I am not disappointed at all. It blends into the skin well and its very light on application. I don’t remember how much it cost because I bought this a couple of months ago (it was a bit pricey) but I love. On days that I want to a really natural highlight this is my go to product. An on those really awesome days that I just dont feel like wearing makeup i use it to cover up the dark spots on my face, set it with a finishing powder and i’m out the door slaying. I’ll try look for the price for you and edit this post.

Beautique Precision Foundation Brush – R99

I’ve been lusting over these beautique brushes for the longest time. I’ve been wanting a full coverage foundation brush that really works makeup into the skin and I can finally say I found it. this brush it just amazing. It blends foundation just as good as a foundation brush and I am so happy I made the choice to buy it. As you can see from the picture this brush is quite dense, it feels so soft on the skin which is what makes just that more appealing. Its easy to clean and its takes back shape effortlessly. Putting on foundation just became that much more fun.

Sorbet Smoothing Body Scrub – R44,95

First and foremost this scrub smells delicious. The neroli oil scent is relaxing and invigorating at the same time. After taking a bath with this scrub, I felt fresh enough to get back to blogging and researching on photography. It was the perfect break. I love taking care of my bosy just as much as I do my face and this Sorbet Body scrubs has allowed me to do that, it had to be on my favourites list. After using moisturizing just feels better, I feel like my skin takes to lotion better after using this scrub. Its definitely a keeper

L.A Girl Nudes Eyeshadow Collection – R59

The LA Girl Cosmetics Brand itself from the reviews is an affordable brand of make and living proof that affordable, drug store makeup does not have to be low quality. This palette is one of my April favourites because of the colours. I love natural tones, I think they suite my eyes and skin well. This eyeshadow palette has been my go to product most of Autumn. I like the shimmers because I think they add just the right amount of sparkle to autumn. From the gold to the champagne coloured shades this is a must own eyeshadow palette.

Carmex Lip Balm – R49’95

The Eastern Cape is getting colder by the day, I promise you guys its almost as if its on a mission to break last years record and because my lips are attention seekers they tend to crack really bad during colder months. This is one of my favourite lip balms because it doesn’t just moisturize but it heals cracked lips too. I’ve been using it everyday and I am so happy about the state that my lips are in. Kissable I tell you, just kissable.

Essence Gel Nail Polish – 24,95

To say that these two are my only nail polish favourites for the month of April would be a lie but I was looking through my pictures and these two colours feature the most. I love the Essence Nail Polishes because they are affordable, good quality nail polishes that will allow you to buy a lot and actually use them bec=fore they dry out. They come is small cute little bottles. My favourite shades for the month of April are  wanna be your sunshine (yellow) and serendipity (grey). I think serendipity is the perfect shade for autumn which is why I love it, the yellow is my way of bringing some sunshine into y life. Its named perfectly if you ask me. What better way to brighten up a lousy day than with a sunshine coloured nail polish.

Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lip Colour

Okay so I hope you all know you can never go wrong with red and although I feel like I might be betraying my number one red lippy (rubywoo) I have to say this little baby grew on me. The satin finish lipstick by Revlon is beautiful. It feels amazing on the lips. I love matte lipsticks so i bought this firstly because it said matte and I have to admit at first I was a bit disappointed that it had a satin finish. It has grown on me and I recommend you buy one or two shades of this. You wont regret it.

Last but definitely not the least favoured my one and only love, this dischem Witch Hazel & Rose Water is one product I just cannot live without. It has worked magic for my skin. Its natural which means it never irritates my skin. i use it as a toner and I feel it working miracles on my skin i tell you. Rose water is great for skin and so is witch hazel. If you suffer from acne and have been unable to find a toner that agrees with your skin, heard on over to dischem and buy this I bought this for 38,95 and its the best value for money.  On days I am feeling too lazy to go through my make up removal routine I just put this on a cotton swab and it takes all the makeup off. I never have to worry. Its affordable and its great for the skin. what more could a girl ask for.

The products I have mentioned are available in Clicks, Dischem and Edgars Stores

I hope you’ve enjoyed this post because I loved every moment of writing this up.
